Sulfur Editions is an esteemed international publishing and cultural cooperative, dedicated to fostering artistic and literary pursuits. Since our inception in 2019, we have been actively engaged in organizing international artistic and literary events, prioritizing artistic research, and facilitating translation exchange projects on a global scale.

Initially launched as an independent cooperative, we have evolved into a prominent literary and artistic magazine available in both English and French. Over the past six years, we have successfully established numerous large-scale global collaborations, organized international art exhibitions, and partnered with various art magazines worldwide. Our initiatives are supported by our dedicated editorial team and a diverse network of cross-border translators.

Since 2020, we have taken pride in editing an international surrealist literary and artistic magazine The Room Surrealist Magazine published in France, available in both English and French. This publication features contributions from dozens of artists and poets around the globe and publishes its annual issue each year. Additionally, we have produced and contributed to several catalogs and anthologies of visual art, which are accessible in European, American, and Latin American markets.
The traditional publishing landscape, dominated by large corporations, often prioritizes profit over artistic merit. This can stifle creative expression and limit the reach of diverse voices. However, a new era is dawning, fueled by the rise of collaborative creative economies and advancements in communication technologies. This movement offers exciting opportunities for the production and dissemination of cross-border literature and publishing, free from the constraints of capitalist restrictions and the commoditization of creativity.
The collaborative creative economy dismantles hierarchical structures, fostering a network of creators who share resources, knowledge, and skills. Imagine a global network of writers, artists, translators, and editors working together on projects unbound by geographical limitations. Our team, comprising skilled translators, editors, and cross-border professionals proficient in English, French, and Spanish have been instrumental in our editorial endeavors. We have edited works for writers from approximately thirty nationalities

Since 2021, we have successfully organized numerous international events in collaboration with esteemed organizations, including the French Consulate, and the French Institute in Cairo and Alexandria, as well as various Egyptian cultural entities—both official and independent partners. Our most recent event, the “Échoes Surréalistes Contemporains 2024,” was a significant milestone, taking place simultaneously in five cities around the world in April 2024. The surrealist symposium featured locations including Luxor, Saint-Cirq- Lapopie, Toulouse, Budapest, and Alabama, promoting cross-cultural dialogue and artistic exchange
This collaborative spirit extends to the publishing realm. By embracing cooperative principles, authors and artists can pool resources to finance publishing ventures. This could involve crowdfunding platforms or membership models where readers contribute directly to the creation and publication of works they’re passionate about. Cooperative publishing empowers creators to retain creative control and ensure their work reaches the intended audience.
